If you would like to learn about painting, or further your skills, come join us for a great weekend, painting in the San Juan Islands. This plein air painting was done last July at the Robert's farm, in San Juan Valley, as a class demonstration. During the workshop, we go out on location, talk about setting up, finding a composition,and making a thumbnail sketch. I will demonstrate getting started on a painting and color mixing. Each person will get going on their own canvas. I circulate, easel to easel throughout the day with one on one help. On the second day, we paint in a different kind of environment. I will introduce a new method of establishing an underpainting. In general, our second day is more expressive, as I encourage people to step outside the natural color palette.
